"My family and I know dad is in safe caring environment at Beattie home."
"My father has been a day visitor and has regular respite care now for 2 years. Our family have found all staff at Beattie Home have been very caring and understanding to my fathers needs. Nothing is a problem. We love how we are always greeted with a cheerful hello and welcome. My father always enjoys his stays at Beattie Home and has formed friendships with some of the residents and day visitors."
- SJ
"The ability to provide hospital level care was crucial, as she would otherwise have had to move to another rest home."
"Both of my parents were residents of Beattie Home for the last few years of life. The care and food provided was excellent. The entertainment staff, assisted by wide group of volunteers, ensured that life was never boring. More recently, my aunt was a resident for about five years, up until January 2025. She always spoke highly of the staff. "

The Beattie Home Story
A legacy of care, shaped by our community
The story of Beattie Home & Hospital begins in 1952, when our facility first opened its doors as the Ōtorohanga Maternity Hospital - a place of new beginnings for generations of local families. When the maternity unit closed in 1986, the community rallied behind a vision to give the building a new life - one rooted in care, compassion, and continuity.
In 1988, that vision became a reality as Beattie Home & Hospital reopened as a rest home, offering aged care services for the first time. Over the decades, the home has grown to meet the evolving needs of the community.
Beattie Home & Hospital operates under the governance of the Beattie Community Trust (Inc) and is managed by Olive Utiera, a Registered Nurse.
